KnoMoor is a play on words and is pronounced "Know More". I learned about the Moors in 2014 and that sent me on the journey of researching about my ancestors history, my roots and the world we live in and why things are the way they are. Fortunately, like a lot of us are starting to realize, our history goes deeper and way more interesting than slavery. History classes in most of our school systems failed us by not being genuine and telling us the truth about ourselves. We were kings, queens, warriors, survivors, creators, teachers and so much more.
I grew up during a time when Fubu, Phat Farm, Baby Phat, Ecko ULTD, Mecca USA and so many other brands were very popular for the culture, so I've always wanted my very own clothing brand. Let me also not forget to mention that Word Up and Right On Magazines were also huge part of why I found a love for clothes and style.
Now I won't lie, coming up with the name was probably the most difficult part of this journey. I knew I wanted a brand that represented knowledge being power but also in some clever way to represent history as well. That's when I decided to drop the 'W' from the word know and create Kno + Moor to be a little more creative than simply using 'Know More'.
I've now went a little further into branding KnoMoor into a project management/design company on top of clothes. I design flyers, social media content and clothing designs for other brands. I plan to continue to freely drop dope clothing, create and get better with designing and look forward to working with other brands in the future.
